Several stories of farm animals being found dead, drained of blood with puncture wounds on their necks started circulating Puerto Rico in 1995. Soon the news outlets were all over it. The beast was called El Chupacabra (goat sucker). Descriptions of the goat sucker varied from a huge vampire bat to a strange hairless canine as sightings of the creature spread into south American.
